Addicts from across the United States seek out rehab in Texas.
Why?
Some of the country’s finest rehab programs are located in the state. Additionally, many people seek to escape the local area because they need to go somewhere unfamiliar. All too often, if a person seeks rehab too close to home, they’ll relapse because they see their familiar:
- Friends
- Dealers
However, if you go to the right facility, you can find help whether or not you’re local. Choosing the right program is crucial to your long-term sobriety.
Seeking Rehab in Texas by Choosing the Right Center
A lot of work and due diligence goes into finding the right rehab center for you. However, before you seek out a specific facility, consider what type of program you want to join:
Inpatient Care
If you’re suffering from a serious addiction, you may want to consider an inpatient treatment center. Often called “residential therapy,” these programs are offered through a licensed facility and will provide care:
- 24 hours a day
- 7 days a week
Care may be more intensive, but the facility has the resources and expertise to help you become drug-free and maintain sobriety. There are also short-term residential options if a long-term one is not needed.
Outpatient Care
If you don’t have a serious addiction or cannot live in a rehab center, an outpatient option may be your ideal choice. Many programs and centers offer outpatient care, which is less intensive and less expensive than residential treatment.
Statistically, 90% of addicts who enter any of these facilities will go into outpatient care.
Aftercare Programs
Relapse is a very real possibility for most addicts. Often, outpatient treatment and inpatient treatment will help you get clean, but additional help is necessary to remain sober. The option for you at this point is to enter into an aftercare program.
These programs offer you two main things:
- Continued access to communities to keep you sober
- Support for your sobriety
Group meetings and outings can be offered along with 24-hour call lines and long-term care management, too. For anyone who has become sober in the past and relapsed, aftercare is something that should be considered because it does provide the extra help many people need to remain sober.
Choosing the Best Rehab Center for You
Once you decide on the type of treatment you need, it will allow you to narrow down your choices of centers dramatically. A few things to consider during your search are:
- Reviews. When conducting research, read through reviews to learn about the experience of others. You’ll want to look through reviews on both Google and Facebook. Testimonials on the official website may also help you understand whether others have had success at the center.
- Licensing and accreditation. Read through the rehab center’s website to learn if they have any accreditation or licensing. Some accreditations come with a very high level of commitment and requirements that must be met.
- Location. If you plan to go to outpatient therapy, it’s equally important that you choose a location that is good for you. The location should be within driving distance but not near areas where you can easily fall off track, such as near a liquor store or a dealer that you know.
- Payments. While we’ll be discussing cost more in-depth below, you’ll always need to consider the overall cost of treatment and any of the payment options that may be available.
- Experience. How long has the facility been in operation and do they have a track record of success? Experience can mean the difference between beating addiction and relapsing.
The level of care is also important. What is the patient-to-staff ratio? What services does the facility provide?
You should compare all of your area’s centers and visit them in person to see which one you like best. However, if you need immediate help, you may want to enter into a program as soon as possible, even if it’s only an outpatient program.
Making a commitment to go to rehab is a very difficult decision, but finding a qualified rehab near you will make sobriety much easier.
How Much Do Drug Rehab Centers Cost?
Rehabilitation costs can vary from $1,000 for outpatient options to $6,000 – $20,000 for a 30-day inpatient program. If you plan to stay in the center for longer, costs can be substantially higher.
Multiple factors go into the overall cost, such as:
- Inpatient care costs substantially more than outpatient
- Outpatient care can be $1,000 -$10,000 for three months
- Intensive programs are typically more
However, if you need a center that is highly discreet, you may have to pay for the privilege. You may or may not be able to have your insurance cover the cost of treatment. The main issue with insurance is that what a treatment facility may see as helpful for a patient may not be what the insurance company believes is necessary.
For example, some facilities may recommend yoga or massage as a means of treatment to help you cope with withdrawal and sobriety, but insurers may not pay for these “extras.”
Some facilities may offer a sliding scale for rehab.
In this case, if a sliding scale is offered, the amount of money that you pay for treatment will be based on your income. You may also be able to:
- Negotiate payment terms with the facility to pay for treatment over time
- Secure financing for your treatment
- Receive a discount of some form
- Rehab scholarships are available in the state
